How to Size Your Nails at Home

Measure the widest part of your natural nail bed in millimeters using tape, a marker, and a ruler.

What You'll Need:

  • Clear tape
  • A marker
  • A ruler (with millimeter measurements)

Steps:

  1. Begin with clean, bare nails.
  2. Apply a small piece of clear tape across your nail.
  3. Using a marker, mark the tape from sidewall to sidewall — where the skin meets the nail on each side.
  4. Remove the tape and place it flat on a ruler.
  5. Measure the distance between the marks in millimeters and record it.
  6. Repeat for all 10 nails.
